“Classical encounters is an inspiring, multifaceted program that my whole family enjoyed. Each week’s lessons engaged our senses and helped us encounter the rich beauty of the foundations of western music. The program was thorough, conveniently laid out, and easy to follow. This was a perfect addition to our home studies!”
— Carrie, Mother of 4
“Sadie has developed a beautiful curriculum for introducing children to classical music! My children loved the polyphony coloring pages and I was impressed with the amount of history included in the guide. We all enjoyed painting Notre Dame in watercolors while listening to Sadie's carefully curated selections. The materials are beautifully formatted and easy to follow. This is a sweet way to make memories with your children, and educational as well.”
– Lynne W.
“Sadie's Classical Encounters music program has benefited our family so much. My homeschooled kids range in age from 6 to 14 and we all learned so much from both the historical and musical components. My personal favorite was learning about Hildegard of Bingen. The art projects were a huge hit too! I highly recommend Sadie's program to all families looking to bring beautiful music and art into their homes.”
– Micaela D.
Why You Should Invest:
Classical music is one of the most powerful art forms that we have, and as such, all children & adults deserve to encounter its beauty.
Music is the great synthesis of culture and humanity. It crystallizes the human experience into a sonic world that we can enter. It allows us to step inside the art, culture, history, and human experiences of times past and present.
Classical music is the literature of music. With masterworks reaching back 800 years and stretching all the way to the present, it encompasses musical works that have proved capable of speaking to the heart of what it means to be human across all time periods, continents and cultures. If we work hard to enrich our lives with the canon of literary masterpieces, why should we not also enrich our lives with the canon of musical masterpieces?
Children of today are in greater need than ever before of good art. Born into a world that often prioritizes passive consumption and hyper productivity over creative participation, children need to encounter powerful works of art that remind them of their inherent worth as a creative being meant to play an active part in this beautiful life. Classical music is a powerful creative, contemplative space that allows each child to fill in the dots with their own unique interpretation, to process complex emotions, and to experience rich catharsis.
